More Shocking Allegations Emerge in Philadelphia Priest Child-Sex Scandal « CBS Philly
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia Common Pleas Court judge today heard more disturbing evidence — including some admissions — of priests in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia who sexually assaulted boys and physically hurt children but still were allowed to continue their service, and their abuse.
The prosecution alleges these “prior bad acts” show a pattern of conduct by the church that contributed to the criminal conduct of defendant Msgr. William Lynn.
Newt claims there is a war against Christianity… I say it’s about time.
Churches should have to pay taxes in america. I find it quite ridiculous that they don’t. This is not a theocracy, it is a democracy, tax the damn churches.

I like how he mentions Jesus then quotes Leviticus. Um, Jesus wasn’t a character in the story just yet, Brandon.
We’ve known about labor abuses in some factories for four years, and they’re still going on. Why? Because the system works for us. —

I loved how Obama said this:
“I will go anywhere in the world to open new markets for American products. And I will not stand by when our competitors don’t play by the rules. We’ve brought trade cases against China at nearly twice the rate as the last administration - and it’s made a difference. Over a thousand Americans are working today because we stopped a surge in Chinese tires. But we need to do more. It’s not right when another country lets our movies, music, and software be pirated. It’s not fair when foreign manufacturers have a leg up on ours only because they’re heavily subsidized.”
Only then to go on and say this, just a few minutes later:
“You see, an economy built to last is one where we encourage the talent and ingenuity of every person in this country. That means women should earn equal pay for equal work. It means we should support everyone who’s willing to work; and every risk-taker and entrepreneur who aspires to become the next Steve Jobs.”

ABC is flat wrong. The Romneys’ investments in funds established in the Cayman Islands are taxed in the very same way they would be if those funds were established in the United States. These are not tax havens and it is false to say so. —
Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul • Trying to quell the swirls of criticism that have emerged over Mitt Romney’s tax information. This all came to a head, in a way, during Monday night’s presidential debate in South Carolina, when Mitt Romney gave an extremely uncomfortable, unprepared seeming answer on whether or not he’d release his tax information, which all but forced them start letting some information out. The fact that Romney only pays (legal though it is) 15% in taxes has caused a stir, but not as much as subsequent reports by ABC News might; they report that Romney maintains millions in investments held in the Cayman Islands, notorious as an offshore tax haven, allowing him to pay an even lower rate. source (via • follow)
All I can say is “Don’t hate the playa, hate the game.” If you think this tax code sucks then let’s change it, I’m all for that. I won’t support beating someone up for doing EXACTLY what he is legally expected to do.

Today our campaign for the presidency ends, but our campaign for a better and more trustworthy America continues. —

If Huntsman had received a fraction of the press when he was in the race as he is getting now that he has dropped out - maybe he wouldn’t have had to drop out. Cain, Bachmann, Perry - all 100% guaranteed no chance at winning were the only fuckwads we ever saw on TV.

So what does Facebook give priority to? Posted photos. And that’s where my idea comes in….
The idea is that you would either A) post the image as a wall photo or better yet B) post an entire ALBUM of this image under a normal title like “2012 Ski Trip!” or “A Crazy New Year’s Eve!”
A Facebook friend of mine has already done option B (complete with tagging people “in” the photos and adding captions about what a fun Christmas break she had) and it has generated a lot of discussion. Waking up to a newsfeed full of these couldn’t fail to catch people’s attention. Details here.
