Greenery
I’m starting to feel like an asshole for not making my Twitter avatar green.
I’m not a joiner by nature, but I am persuadable. (It should be noted that this shit Ahmadinejad is pulling has got me very pissed off.)
So. Tell me:
Am I an asshole for not being green?
No. The green icon nonsense is Slacktivism at its worst. I recommend reading Adam Isacson’s post on the matter.
I think it’s important to note that the forces of good have nobody in this fight. Whoever wins, Iran will still be a black hole for human rights, the rights of women, the forces of secularism and so on.
Most of those “slacktivist” (I love that term!) don’t even know the first thing about Mousavi.
