One of these things is not like the other…
Outside the South, this madness is gaining very little traction, and remains a fringe conspiracy theory. Within the South, it’s practically mainstream.


What’s going on in the South? Can anybody explain this discrepancy? I don’t think it’s that people in the South are simply dumb. And they presumably have access to the same media outlets the rest of the country has. What’s going on?


I live in GA so I will speak to this - but it is only a best guess and opinion. I think there are two factors that when combined could explain the differences. First, it is a very conservative area and Fox News is the #1 source of news. Secondly, there is still plenty of racism to go around even if it is “under the surface”.
Sad really - there are ample “real reasons” to dislike Obama but too many go for the most juvenile attack.
