Report: Cowboys’ Grantham accepts UGA job
No confirmation yet from Georgia or the Dallas Cowboys, but there is a report early this morning that Cowboys defensive-line coach Todd Grantham has accepted Mark Richt’s offer to be the Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator.
If that turns out to be the case -– and caution is warranted, given how this saga has gone — Richt’s six-week-long search for Willie Martinez’s successor finally would be over.
The Grantham report came from Rivals.com national football writer Tom Dienhart, who wrote “Georgia will hire Todd Grantham as defensive coordinator” in a story posted on the Website and added in a Twitter post: “Grantham’s deal is signed. It is for 3 years. He will be the third highest paid DC in the nation.” No source was cited.
